The Court Services Department provides for the fair, courteous and efficient administration of justice under the City of Milton’s jurisdiction.
Milton Municipal Court is located in the back building (furthest from the street) along with the Milton Police Headquarters of the City’s Public Safety Complex. The address is:

Hours of Operation
Milton Municipal Court is open between 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (except for holidays), with payments accepted between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Arraignments generally are held every Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Courtroom, with cases heard in the order that people check in. If your case is being considered, please arrive in a timely manner. Trials are held one Friday each month beginning at 9 a.m.

Brian A. Hansford is the Chief Judge in the City of Milton’s Municipal Court. In addition this role, Hansford works as a partner and defense attorney at Miles Hansford Tallant, LLP, and as Chief Judge of Roswell Municipal Court.
He has also previously served as an Assistant Solicitor General in the State Court of Forsyth County and as Public Defender in the Lumpkin County Probate and Magistrate Courts.
Hansford completed his undergraduate degree at North Georgia College and State University (now the University of North Georgia), where he received his bachelor of science degree in criminal justice.
Subsequently he joined the United States Army and served proudly with the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, N.C. After being honorably discharged, Hansford obtained his law degree at the John Marshall Law School in Atlanta.
