Facing DUI Charges in Roswell, GA? You Don’t Have to Face Them Alone.

If you’re here, you’re likely feeling overwhelmed. A DUI arrest is serious, and showing up at Roswell Municipal Court without someone in your corner can make it worse. At Willis Law Firm, we guide people just like you through this tough moment—step by step—with clear advice and proven defense strategies.

Why a DUI in Roswell Isn’t Just Another Traffic Ticket

Being charged with DUI in Georgia carries heavy consequences. If convicted, you could face steep fines, lose your driver’s license, or even spend time in jail. The outcome depends on things like your blood alcohol level, past offenses, or whether someone got hurt. But one thing is always true—facing the court without an experienced Roswell Municipal Court DUI attorney puts everything you care about at risk.

Here’s What You Could Be Facing

For a first DUI, fines can reach $1,000, jail time can last up to 12 months, and your license might be suspended for a year. A second DUI brings even harsher penalties: a longer license suspension, more jail time, and a court order for community service or alcohol treatment. If this is your third DUI, Georgia considers it a high and aggravated misdemeanor. A fourth DUI is a felony—something that could affect you for the rest of your life.

    What Sets Us Apart

Choosing the right lawyer matters. At Willis Law Firm, we don’t just handle DUI cases—we help people protect their future. Our team has deep experience inside Roswell Municipal Court, and we understand the steps it takes to move toward the best possible result.

We listen. We build a defense based on your specific situation. And we walk with you through every stage—from your first court date to the last.

How We Help You Take Back Control

Every DUI case is different. That’s why we review everything: how the traffic stop happened, what tests were done, and whether your rights were respected. Then we build a defense designed for your exact situation.

We also help you understand what to expect in court and what actions can improve your outcome. You won’t be left guessing. You’ll have a clear plan and someone by your side every step of the way.

What Happens If You Do Nothing

Ignoring a DUI charge—or handling it alone—can make things worse. You could face:

    • A permanent criminal record

    • Time behind bars

    • Losing your license

    • Trouble finding work or housing

And there’s more. In Georgia, a DUI triggers a license suspension hearing that runs separately from your court case. You only have a short time to respond before your license is automatically suspended. We handle that too.

Mistakes People Make (And How to Avoid Them)

After a DUI arrest, it’s easy to feel confused and unsure of what to do next. In that moment, even small missteps can lead to bigger problems. At Willis Law Firm, we’ve seen how certain mistakes make it harder to protect your rights and secure a better outcome. The good news? These mistakes are avoidable—especially with the right attorney by your side.

One of the most common errors people make is waiting too long to get help. A DUI charge isn’t something you can ignore and hope will go away. It sets off a legal process that moves fast. Waiting too long to speak with an attorney means you could miss important deadlines—like the short window you have to fight an automatic license suspension. The sooner you reach out, the more options we have to help you.

Another mistake is talking too freely with law enforcement. After an arrest, it’s natural to want to explain yourself or share your side of the story. But this can work against you. Even a simple statement can be taken out of context and used as evidence in court. That’s why it’s so important to exercise your right to remain silent until your attorney is present. We’ll make sure you’re protected before anything is said on the record.

Missing court dates is another issue that creates serious consequences. Life gets busy. You may feel overwhelmed. But failing to show up at your scheduled appearance—even by accident—can result in a bench warrant for your arrest, extra fines, or other penalties. When you hire us, we help you keep track of every court date, filing, and requirement so you don’t face these risks alone.

And finally, one mistake many people don’t even realize they’re making is ignoring the administrative license suspension process. After a DUI arrest in Georgia, your license doesn’t just wait for the court’s final decision. There’s a separate legal track that begins immediately, and if you don’t request a hearing in time, you could lose your driving privileges before your case even begins. We handle that process for you, making sure no steps are missed.

When you work with a Roswell Municipal Court DUI attorney from Willis Law Firm, you’re not just getting legal defense—you’re getting a guide who helps you avoid these common traps and walk the right path forward.

Frequently Asked Questions About DUI Arrests in Roswell, GA

If you’ve recently been arrested for a DUI in Roswell, GA, you likely have many questions. Here are some of the most common questions people ask, along with answers to help you understand your situation and options. At Willis Law Firm, our experienced Roswell Municipal Court DUI attorneys are here to provide the support and guidance you need.

After a DUI arrest in Roswell, you’ll likely receive a citation with a court date at Roswell Municipal Court. That’s where your case officially begins. You’ll need to attend arraignment, where you’ll enter a plea. It’s smart to have a lawyer with you before that date so you know what to expect and how to respond.

Yes, in most DUI cases, personal appearance is required—especially for arraignments and hearings. Missing a court date can result in a bench warrant and additional charges. We help our clients track every required appearance and make sure they’re fully prepared.

Yes. After a DUI arrest, there’s a short window—only 30 days—to request an ALS (Administrative License Suspension) hearing. If you don’t act quickly, you could lose your license automatically. We handle this process for you and fight to help you keep your driving privileges.

Penalties vary depending on your record and the details of your case, but they often include fines, jail time, community service, DUI school, and license suspension. A second or third DUI brings even tougher consequences. We work to reduce or dismiss charges wherever possible.

It’s possible, but not always required. A first-time DUI in Georgia can lead to jail time, but with the right defense and a skilled attorney, many clients avoid jail through negotiation, alternative sentencing, or by challenging the evidence.

DUI cases in Roswell can take several months to resolve, depending on how complex the case is and how the court schedule moves. We keep our clients updated at every step so there are no surprises.

In many cases, yes. We review all the facts, including whether the stop was legal, whether the tests were done properly, and if your rights were respected. If there are problems with the case, we fight to get charges reduced or dismissed altogether.

Absolutely. DUI laws in Georgia are strict, and the system is hard to navigate alone. A DUI conviction can follow you for life. Having an experienced Roswell Municipal DUI attorney gives you the best chance at a positive outcome.

Costs can vary depending on the complexity of the case, but we offer free consultations so you can understand your options before committing to anything. We’ll explain our fees clearly and work with you to find a plan that fits.

Bring any documents you received from the police or court, including your citation, bond paperwork, and any notices about court dates. If you took a breath, blood, or urine test, let us know the results if you have them. We’ll take it from there.
